Subject: Mail File affected by "Insufficient memory - too many design elements (Desk Design Pool)"
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Error Message
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Intermittent
This happens since Today in my mail file both server and local replica using Client Releases 8.5.3FP2 and 8.5.2FP4. When accessing my mail file in these clients using my own Notes ID get this error and can't do anything.
I can open my mail file in Notes 7 client with my own ID or with another ID having manager access to my mail file in the Clients mantioned above without problems.
I searched in the mean time all entries to this subject in all forums from Notes 4 up to 8.5 . I tried everything suggested or applicable to this situation
- increasing workspace space, compacting it and restarting client
- running a fixup and a compact on my mail file
- check if there is some LEI involved (that's not the case)
- check also if another process might generate a design element overflow in my mail file.
- removing desktop8.ndk, cache.ndk and bookmark.nsf (this helps but for a very short time)
Actually I found no other work-around for working normally in an actual 8.5.x client but downgrading the design of my mail file to Notes 7 mail design on server and creating a fully new replica locally. This "disease" is still in it. I also tried to upgrade again the design of the mail file to 8.5.3 and after some activity in it I had to experience again the "Insufficient memory .." error.
I written in more detail the cases above to give you a better idea of what I tried and the information gathered.
I summarize here the situation when it happens:
- if I and not somebody else accesses my mail file
- if I'm using a N8.5.x Client
- if the template of my mail file is also Notes 8.5.x
Any suggestion to sustainably solve this problem would be more than welcome.
